Here is a picture of my computer’s hard drive. There is a reason why it is no longer happily nested in the warm core of my computer, innocently uploading and downloading information while providing me with a general sense of computery contentedness. That reason, however, is unknown to me and the “Geniuses” at the Apple Store. Perhaps it had an aneurism, or maybe it caught my cold?
What I do know is that this is the very same reason why I am now scrambling to hunt down all of the important research data files, fellowship application essays, coursework proposal write-ups, and presentations I have collected, written, and created over the past two-and-a-half months.
This public service anouncement is brought to you by: WHY-OH-WHY-DID-I-NOT-BACK-UP-MY-HARD-DRIVE-LIKE-A-RESPONSIBLE-NONIDIOT?!?!
(Seriously. Back your computer up. Do it now; do it every day.)
